pine bark soil ammendment- where?

Can someone advise a source for pine bark soil amendment or pine bark conditioner we could get shipped to northeastern New Jersey at this time of year. It would only be a 2 to 6 cu ft bag, and the shipping would be heavy I realize, but I want it. I'd be very happy to pick it up too. Our place is right outside of New York City. Thanks. Bonnie

Permalink Reply by Michael Pawelek on February 11, 2010 at 5:05am: Bonnie, I use the Louisiana-Pacific Pine Bark conditioner in my soil mix and buy it by the pallet load in 2 cu ft. bags. It is southern pine bark that is run through a tiny 1/4" screening process and can be varied in consistancy. One of my distributors is the BWI company which has offices in the Southern tier of states. My local BWI office near Schulenberg, Texas carries LP products but I do not know if every location does the same as much of this pine bark is produced right here in the East Texas Piney woods. BWI's closest office's to you are in South Carolina (800-922-8961) or in Tennessee (800-489-8873) or in Missouri (800-247-4954) There is most probably someone closer! :)

Try Greg over at Select Garden Products Your Minimum Quantity will be a Half a Semi Load (though you can mix and match with their other Mulch products):
