attention all growers, we are having issues with euphorbia yellowing and dropping leaves. we have multiple isolated gutter connect ranges and one range in particular is giving us problems. all other ranges with euphorbia are showing no symptoms. all other plants in the range with the suspect euphorbia are fine, p h is fine, all furnace exhaust are fine, as all heat exchangers are ok. there is a dark leaf variety of euphorbia in the suspect range that doesnt exhibit the yellowing as the green leaf variety does. all of our culture practices remain the same as the last 21 years. just curious if anyone

has seen this happen before.

Robin, I would check the root system out on the euphorbia to see if they are bright white as in my picture below. If not you may have a root rot problem. Also, you say the pH is correct. What is in the mixed container with the euphorbia? If those are some type of geranium you may be growing plants in the same containers that require totally different pH ranges.

Wet growing media with high humidity and several cloudy days in a row? Rooting Euphorbia under these conditions will result the same net effect. Euphorbia can be cold sensitive if not
acclimated especially when there is excessive moisture or humidity at low temperatures.

media is not too wet and we just went through one week of 50-60 degree weather with good sunlight.
no root rot apparent either, also as i said we have euphorbia planted elsewhere in mixed combos and geraniums that shows no yellowing.
it did not effect breathless blush at all. we also keep our humidity low at 60-70percent range.
we are dry growers as at this time of year we can experience a week of overcast or rainy days. it seems almost like ethylene injury. the baskets were planted week six with clean vigorous euphorbia cuttings.
we root our own and did see some ethylene injury at time of receipt on week 1 when we received them.
again blush unrooted were received in good condition from the stock facility, only the green leaf white
showed injury and seemed to bounce back about a week after sticking.

Robin, The reason I asked about pH is that I grow both my green leaf and blush leaf euphorbia at a pH near 5.5 for really dark green foliage and my Geraniums at 6.5-6.7 which is a worlds difference in pH values. I also keep my Geraniums evenly moist during the Jan-Feb months where as the euphorbia I let go almost bone dry between waterings. Hopefully you will find out the answer....
