The first three quarters were very good, we ran a nice increase throughout all of them. Fourth quarter profits took a hit, as the weather killed most of the weekend sales pre-holidays. However our aggressive diversification in to indoor foliage and…

For me, I think I need to separate the first half of the year and the second half. Business has been off by 25 to 50% for the last couple of years and the first half of 2009 was the same for me. My main business has been selling full sized rare cyca…

Here in S.E Texas this last year we had to deal with a record breaking drought this last Summer which included water restrictions in many areas plus a weakened economy. Sales in Spring were good but tapered off quickly for a "so-so" sales season for…

Just wondered if anyone had read the editorial in Lawn and Garden Retailer by Paige Worthy? I hate to be a bad sport but she paints a way too rosy picture of how 2009 was for a lot of people I believe. Maybe some companies fared well but on the most…

Jeff, http://www.inntec.com/inntec/ did ours http://www.floridafriendlyplants.com/ and we are very happy with the results and the cost. You will have enough (too many) hours invested with the data portion to consider tackling the complicated IT side of it. Inntec incorporated Google Analytics(free service) and you get way more information than you can absorb on how many and where your page visitors come from and how long they linger. Fran Hopkins has a site I very much admire http://www.stepables.com/ and this type marketing may be more suited to your needs. We both use the blog format in place of a newsletter as it is easier to maintain. Feedburner which was just purchased by Google maintains the subscriptions so you can avoid the maintinence.
